Web Home Page: Previously known as the Landdrosdrift Nature Reserve, A.S. le Roux covers 2 700 ha and contains five different vegetation types, namely western mountain Karoo (which occurs in very stony country and includes low shrubs and some bush), succulent Karoo, mountain renosterveld (which comprises straggly woody shrubs), montane fynbos (heath) and false heathland (characterised by daisy-like plants. This amazing diversity offers visitors the opportunity to examine hundreds of different plant species. There is a flourishing heard of springbok and many species of birds are to be seen Location: The Little Karoo; north-west of Tows River. Access: From Tows River take the N1 southwards and after 2 km turn right into the A.S. le roux Nature Reserve. Accommodation: None. Tows River has a hotel and a camping and caravan site. Other facilities: 15-km hiking trail; picnic area' pathways. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: On request.
